to be perfectly honest, for a 300D the quality of theh pics are quite disappointing. Perhaps you should consider using flash and close-up filters?

Can you elaborate on the "disappointing" part? I'm new to taking macros and close-ups so I need some advice...=)

I guess composition would be a very big point to pay attention to, it is not clear what it is you're trying to show the viewer. Also pay attention to the background e.g. pic 2 the graduated grey background is very distracting. And it is supposed to be macro so you really need to get closer in.

In the outdoors you need to worry about wind as well, as it causes the subject to vibrate, so check your shutter speed. your subjects all look soft given you're using a 300D.

If you're very close you'd also need to worry about whether you get enough light on the subject, fill flash from your in-built flash would throw shadows at this range so consider your lighting.

If you don't have a macro lens then you might need to consider close-up filters for your kit lens.

I'm sure all the gurus here can elaborate better, heck I don't even have an SLR paiseh sekali sian sar lah
