Hi Helbreath,
Welcome to the world of nature photography. The birds in image #1, #2 and #4 are female sunbirds while image #3 is that of a yellow-vented bulbul. We need to start somewhere. My advise is to pay more attention to the background and foreground. If it was the birds that you wanted to highlight, it will be less distracting if the background/foreground is clearner. So move around the trees/shrubs to look for a clean background/foreground next time. Cheers! |

Good try, maybe you will like to do what skfoo suggested and head out to places like the Botanic Gardens for a wider variety of shooting environment?

I used to practice from my home like what you are doing. I find it very useful. What I did was to practice on just getting sharp image of the bird. Once this is done than I go for the composition and background at SBG and JBP.
Keep shooting Cheers |

Keep shooting and most important, the Passion and of course the ability to wake up early and go get the "worm" before the birds do...
