Default Questions on Contax T3..

I owned a Contax T3 with a flash adaptor SA-2. Can I use it with the Leica SF20 flash?
Anyone had tried it before?

The Contax T3 can only use with the Contax TLA200.

Maybe you can try a Nikon SB22 and set the SB22 on Auto.

I have try using Nikon SB22 on my Voigtlander and also my Canon 10D and it work like a Mert flash on Auto mode.

It is not true! I had just got a email from Kyocera. They told me that I can use any single-pole flash on the Contax T3 (with SA-2 of course!).

Forgot.....
One more Flash to recommend, The Nikon SB30. Smaller, but size is great for your Contax.

Cameraworkshop is seller $150-160(forgot the actual price) for a new one.

http://www.nikon.com.sg/PRODUCT/FLASH/SB30.htm

I had this too, in Auto Mode, it can be use for all my EOS film and digital cameras and Voigtlander too (as good as the SB22s but less powerful, and w/o bouce flash)

The Metz 32Z1 is a more powerful auto flash than either the Sb22 or SB30. And it's cheaper too ~$100-120 second hand but maybe a bit big on the T3.

Alternatively, a compact auto flash like Achiever 115A/S can be had for less than $30. I used to have one and the trigger voltage is ~2V, definitely safe for any camera. SB30 is a costly overkill, though it looks nice.

can try Cathay Photo or Achiever. remember seeing there. do note that Achiever makes many models. The 115 A/S is the last second one on the following page. 115A would do as well. Do note that these are not dedicated flash and you need to set the flash/camera manually to the same aperture/ISO for proper exposure.

The Metz 32Z1 could tilt and swivel and is more powerful.

Metz is good but way too big for my rangerfinder (goes the same for the T3)

Achiever (a slightly bigger model than 115, saw it at cathay) is cheaper and smaller ( I think around $50-65+++ ??) but it look cheap. Have not try it, maybe it cheap but may get very good results?

I had thought of buying the Metz flash and Achiever also, but in the end bought 2 nikon. (SB22 and SB30)

The Metz 32Z1 weighs similar to the SB22.... but with batteries, it'll reach ~300g. Buildwise, it's very good.

There are many other bigger Metz flashes around (e.g. 54MZ3 which is as powerful but bigger than the SB28/SB80DX/SB800).

I forgot the actual amount but it is something like $150 plus (if I am not wrong). I bought it together with Contax T3 filter adaptor, UV filter and mental lens hood.
Contax T3 is too small for my big hands! With a SA-2 on all the time, I find that I have a better grip!
I bought it on Cathay Photo. But now I don't think they have any more Contax metal lens cap anymore (the last pcs was purchased by me).

The Camera Workshop sells the SA-2 flash adapter for about $160. The K-31 snap on cover is not available unless you request for Tithes to bring it in. The 30.5mm UV filter is still available at Cathay for $40. Metal hood should be available at Alan Photo. The filter adapter should be readily available at Cathay.

You can say that again. I had one off eBay in the past, but ended up using it only a few times with a TLA200 set at 28mm, and sold it off. The one accessory that I love most is the semi hard case CC-82 with a Aria W-25 strap. Slinged it around my chest every I went during my holidays, and found it very convenient when I wanted to use it. That one comes up to another hundred over bucks, but I guess that it is worth it as I now only carry PnS during my holidays.
