How about cutting through the haze and adding some polarizer effect in PS?

Hope you don't mind.

Hey Jeremy,
really nice shots. Good to know the Sigma 70-300 is capable of these. Are these cropped or can you fill the frame with this lens? Do you mind posting the link to your pbase account please, just like to have a closer look at the EXIF for these.

Best Regards,

Did you need to be in the compound to take the photos of the aerial display? Or can you be at the changi beach(FOC) and take them?

Hoping to take some nice pics. But sky very hazy even today.

No secret lah...just adjust the levels. I used the smoke from the centre 3 planes as reference white point, so I sampled the brightest portion of the smoke and adjusted the max points of the R, G and B channels such that the sampled pixels have R=G=B=245. Since there is no black area in the photo to set the black point, I just used my judgement and pulled the min point for each channel until the hazy effect went away. I also played with the mid points to deepen the blue sky to give the polarizer effect.

Default hello

Are you at Chanig beach or at the actual paid site. I was thinking of going to Changi beach. Would that be a good vantage point? I was there once many years ago and the air display was pretty good at Changi Point. Thanks.

Lightbulb I believe...

I believe that one can go to the beach opposite the exhibition site using public bus without buying a ticket. For watching the aerial display only.

Yupz you don't have to go into the exhibition to get good pics.. the beach oppersit the exhibiton offers a much better view IMO, and what more its free and if you lucky u can find a good spot with shady trees.. inside they provide stadium kind of seating under the sun..

Yup. it's a hard sell for Boeing of the E variant to the singapore government. I really hope they'll purchase this plane, quite dated, but still one of the best air superiority fighters in the world.
