    Understand your concern.

    I do occasional video editing and save my work files/partially edited clips on media. Reason why I'm opting for a higher speed CPU is when converting to DVDs, rendering time is hell. This is also true when rendering 2D/3D animations.
    A little OT. I use Ulead Video Studio6 which came with my DV cam. I find this adequate and very user friendly. Care to share which s/w you use?

    I think I will need to make a little change in my original config. to have a larger 120G HDD, a better grafix card and 1GB of ram.
