Long-tailed Shrike captured our attention early in the morning.
![]() Later I was targeting the black-shouldered kite. ![]() Back-shouldered kite with twig.....hmmm it must be planning to start a family. ![]() Just when we intended to packup, we saw hundreds of these birds in a field. If you saw someone sprinting a short distance with a long lens and big tripod on Sunday between 12pm and 1 pm, that's probably me. The hot steam from the ground gave the subject and background an oil painting liked effect. ![]() This series of photos represent the end of morning session of RIM 2 for me. Not excellent shots but passable to share share. ![]() |

Yeah man...a dedicated photographer running towards a field just to get that "Life of Birds" shot as indicated in #4 picture. That's the spirit of a true nature photographer. Opportunity knocks only once and you've to be there real EARLY for it.

Harlequin/espn,
Thanks for the kind words. tert, No problemo. The steam from the ground has such an effect that I am unable to get sharp images even on manual focusing. Very interesting experience I would say. The birds flew off the moment they saw my outline when I approached them. |
