    Default Teleconvertor

    Hi Folks,

I got my 500d with kit2 (18-200) not too long ago and was just browsing around
and i stumbled upon a teleconvertor. Whats your input?

Yeah, i did some research on it and it has some pros and cons.

What are your opinions based on the research you have done? If you mention what you have found in your research, you'd save people time from repeating what you already, "know".

Like everything, there are trade-offs, so would you be happy with a tele convertor based on your needs?

1 stop is only for the 1.4x teleconverter. It will be 2 stops if you go for the 2.0x one. And if the f/stop goes below f/5.6, AF won't work unless you have a 1series camera. Not sure if kenko will work on 18-200mm lens. I know the Canon version will definitely not work.
