it's the earlier version of 80-200 lens ED lens. the main difference is that instead of having a zoom ring as the newer version have, the earlier version has a ring which you need to push and pull to zoom, and screw for focusing. the Aperture ring for the 2 versions are the same. actually it allow you to zoom faster, since pull and push is definately faster than screw round by round. but it is not as accurate as screw, since it is very fast zooming. someone likes it, some don't, it depends on individual preference.
Also someone says that the older version is a bit slow in focusing, but personally i feel it's still ok. anyway it was once the most popular lens nikon users use. hope you understand what i am trying to explain ... = ) |
