Hi, I was considering getting the Gretag Macbeth Eye One Display, and I was wondering how much pple have paid for it on the forums. The lowest quote I've gotten so far is $600 and I was wondering if there was anywhere I could go for a better price than that?

There are a lot of reviews comparing the Gretag Macbeth and Colorvision Spyder products, but offhand this is what I have in my favourites...
http://www.camerahobby.com/Digital_G...th_Eye-One.htm In a nutshell as far as I'm concerned, the Eye One Display produces more accurate profiles than the Spyder. The pro vs nonpro version of the spyder i think refers to the sophistication of the calibration software that comes with it and the pro version has the ability to profile lcd monitors in addition to crts. The Eye One Display can do both.

You may want to order overseas like from www.colormall.com The last time I checked the price, it was US$249 before shipping. Do your own maths...

Thanks Watcher, I did check up on overseas prices actually. It came up to about $550 after factoring in shipping and GST. I decided against it in the end cos' I'd rather pay the extra $50 to have the peace of mind knowing that I won't have to ship the thing back to the US if it malfunctions.
