Default RIM 2 - Started

The team of Research In Motion 2 (RIM 2) was activated at 5.30am.

After a briefing over breakfast, we proceeded into the field where we would trek for hours. Out in the field in the early morning, you will not fail to notice the warmth of the sun.

Something like that:

According to reliable sources a participant of RIM has lost 7 1/2 kg since involving with nature photography (he is a very happy man )......that brings me to the outfit portion.

Capturing images of nature is fun. But do forget your buddies who out in the field also become part of nature.

These are what I mean.......

Buddy buddy system.....

Another angle.

The images of other nature subjects will continue in new threads.

I have lots of laugh taking these pictures. Hope you enjoy them as much as seeing images of birds!

Cheers!

SK,

Love your first shot, nice colours & backlighting effect to the lallang.

These guys that you took pics of: they are the primary members of the CSBF S.W.A.T. team.

RIM is a guaranteed weight loss program even better than what some slimming centres advocate. The tough training of running around and sweating it out in the hills and longkangs of unexplored Singapore with a 10kg load strapped to your back is a surefire way to slim down, get fit and also gives you that tanned look.

Need to get out of urban life and be close to nature? Find that yoga or aerobics session ineffective to your efforts to slim down? No problem, your solution is right here. Join the CSBF gang on their regular "training" trips and you will achieve your goal. Not to mention a free tutorial on how to shoot birds from them.

Talking

I stand in awe looking at the unwavering dedication shown by our friends in getting that one shot... impressive...

The Bird Photog's Creed...
Though the sun may be scorching,
and the ants may be biting...
Though my legs may be aching,
and my arms may be cramping...

Though the hills may be daunting
and my strength may be wanting
Though the weight of my lens is killing
and many a times I feel like collapsing

Nay, I will not falter...
Even with no water!
I will always conscientiously plot
to take that perfect shot!

Garion,

Thanks for the comments and promotional materials.

Gremlin,
Wah! Poem also appear! Can’t help wondering what’s next.

Avatar,
Membership poster? Wow! Good work!

Sehsuan,

Yes, the mentioned setup is on the left.

Spectrum,

In nature photography, it won’t take long to realize that cameras and lenses are tools to help us or make it easier for us to get the images. Yes, a lot of hard earned $$$ went into these equipments. Sometimes the high price paid on equipments is to do justice to the beauty around us (especially when lenses are concerned). Each of us has our own reasons as to why we are out in the field. But it is the common love for nature that brings us together.

For security reasons, RIM teams are activated on the day of the field trips, early in the morning!

That was indeed very funny....managed to loosen some bones after a long 13 hours flight.

RIM = Weight Loss program ? Quite true for most of us.

Sgt. Garion was suppose to man that hotline. He must have gone to take bird photo again!

Activations (using SilentMOB) are typically 6 hours before the actual shootout, so as to maintain secrecy from the rebels.

Hmm...if humans can recognise us, then we need to go Beach Road Market to buy face paint liao, plus more camouflage material.

Yesterday, even with the minimum camouflage around us, we could get like 5 metres away from the birds (YES ! They must be blind!) but it's all about blending into the environment.

Watch out for RIM 3 when I return !

Will be attacking Area 2102 and 2101

Maybe we can all use this as anthem before the start of any bird shoot ? Good one there Gremlin !

I think i need to go practice better camouflaging using more ferns and lalang leaves liao ! Hopefully a Baya Weaver won;'t land on my head !

If Sehsuan can recognise me then must report to Sgt Garion for IFC lessons...
