Default Difference between grey, imported and local sets?

Can anyone tell me the difference between a grey set, an imported set and a local set of lens.
    For e.g. a sigma 30mm f/1.4 being sold in all 3 versions.
Is the local set from the sigma distributor directly and thus come with local warrenty?

grey set : no local/agent warranty, probably only shop warranty

imported set : might be local set from authorised dealer overseas, so covered under international warranty

local set : covered under local warranty

    these r my opinions

not sure abt sigma but canon and nikon lenses have international warranty whether you purchase them locally or overseas. always read the guarantee card to see the terms of coverage.

local set are imported by local agent with waranty by local service centre. for nikon grey and imported to me are same...only international warranty...not too sure though, never dealt with grey/imported set
