Hi, just got a quote from MS Color for the following items:

10D $2660 (inc GST)
550EX Ext Flash $610 (inc GST)
Tamron 24-135 $599 (inc GST)

They said got to call them to check stock level before coming down. Will reserve tomolo

I hear canon is coming out a new 550ex with new TTL2
but strangely not announced at PMA .......

Alamak E-TTL-2, currently only work with their latest DSLR mah .... don't think even 10D can use that capability.

ETTL-2 is more of a firmware/algorithm update rather than an equipment update. All it needs to support ETTL-2 is in the camera body itself (e.g. 1D MkII).

There are rumors that there will be a new Speedlite, but evidence has been weak.

AP actually quoted me $550 exc GST about 1 week ago. More cheaper then MS Color.

Facts about E-TTL II, it is not a change as painful as you think.

There are two important points here. First, E-TTL II does not require any changes to either the flash units or lenses used with an E-TTL II camera - the changes are all internal to the camera body. And second, while E-TTL II does use distance data when it’s available and when it’s appropriate, you can still use older lenses just fine.
