i think it costs around $40 to service

they called me up by mistake and said it'll cost $40 to service my 50mm when i told them i only wanted to calibrate my 10d and my lenses are there for this reason.

Anyway i can help you clean it if you want, but then you'll have to pass me the lens. (Can't expect me go take from you right?)

NTU or town area would be good.

Let me know if you want.

Yo! did u manage to remove all the glass? So far I can access all the len elements except the 1st front element which is one near to filter thingy. It seems like it's glued on and need to use infra-red to soften the glue? Yes/no?

The rest are ok.

If I didn't remember wrongly yours is the one with the fungas?

No, I didn't have to remove the front elements, the dust were all at the rear.

Yes. I noe u pm-ed me b4. Just a update qns, maybe u have access all the elements seen u have cleaned more lens.

Yes, if the dust is on the real element but on front element are quite comment too.
I realised cheaper len usually use glue on front element lor something like glass on watches. From my limited knowledge, there is a infrad-red tool to place the glass there to soften the glue then it can be remove. The watch industry uses a kind of transparent glue that place under ultra-violet light to let it dry and hold the glass together. It shd be the same stuff.
