When shots of the same subject are taken using the same lens under similar lighting condition, I realised my EOS 888 (35mm film) gives sharper pictures (scanned films) than my EOS 300D (digital). Any possible reason?

cos you need to process your digital files first to obtain the 'real sharpness' of the camera, also your film camera being full frame has more resolution than the digital 300d camera.
you need to unsharp mask your pictures first on your computer postediting software eg 'photoshop'.There is a low pass filter on the cmos censor that causes the 'un'sharpness. |

Perhaps its the lens ? Perhaps is some focusing issue ? hmm..... .
I've heard that Canon CMOS offers sharper images than the Nikon's CCD. Yet, I get sharper 8R images from my d100 than my f80. More detail too, due to the absence of grain. Hmm... maybe, u gotta work on processing ?

post-processing is part and parcel of digital photography. Wouldn't say it's a must but the whole idea of going digital is "total control" over your shots unlike film.
