Default Stop file number reset on D100

Whenever I download my flash card and start shooting again, the file number resets to 1. Is there any way to stop this from happening, so that the file number never resets? A friend of mine who has a Canon 1Ds says that his camera does this by default.

Thats good news... at work new so couldn't check the camera.

If only I'd set this on from day one I would know how many shots I'd taken with the cam! Oh well....

i'm sure evn if the file number is reset everytime, there would be some main counter to register the number of shots. I can't be sure, maybe other D100 users can comment?

That's why it pays to read the manual.
