then went to Sim Lim, went as high as $350, jaws dropped. most shops quote $160 also.

Then went to e shop which sells cameras n handphones, directly opp sim lim sq foodcourt, a sales guy named Robert served me, he sold it to me @ $100 with GST. another guy bought this with a tokina UV filter at $250 from another sales guy.. maybe i look poor, so they spared me e chopper..
haven tried e macro, dono e capability. but for wide angle, my Tamron hunted for focus for a while.. vignetting big time problem, think TS should consider buying bigger sized lens then attach step down ring to avoid vignetting..

100? Eh, this one costs around 50-60 max. Even then, it is not a good thing to use on a DSLR lens as it will give you bad IQ. You got spared the big big chopper, but still got whacked with the smaller chopper.

The only wide angle converter I have is one from Fuji made specifically for the Fuji S7000 prosumer. That wide angle converter cost me around 160. But IQ from that thing is quite good. If you have an interchangeable lens camera (DSLR) why even bother with wide angle converters?

These wide angle adapters are actually designed to use with video cams. Dunno which idoit start printing the word DSLR and HD on the wide angle adapter and sell it with DSLR lens.

Haha... agree with good brother two200. They must be desperate to keep cutting their prices to secure TS's business.
Fortunately TS didn't succumb to that.
Anyway I noticed TS uses a Nikon D40. I am not familiar with Nikkor lenses, but I am sure you can use third party wide angles for your 1.5x crop body.

Stein Zeiser is a singapore brand. Probably started by the same ah beng that tried to rip you off.

Never ever buy anything of this brand.

Stitching would be a good option too.

Bad deal. Not even at $40.
    Don't buy.

It is a screw on converter that you fix in fron of your lens.
The 52mm you mentioned refers to the filter thread. Not the focal length.
52mm focal length is definitely not wide angle.

Steinheiser is a brand name created by some marketing people.
It is probably not a German company.

It is a German sounding name to fool buyers that it is a German product.
Likely it is made in China or other places.

Some HK companies try to pull the same trick with watches.
They make and sell watches with fancy Swiss sounding brand names.
