Worse, it's in dictionary.com, an easy reference.

It is hard to believe that people who owns a DSLR
find it hard to operate the equipment even in whatever
mode ... but also find it hard to know that it is the start
of a process of learning the English associated with
    photography.

Ooeerrrr, dictionary.com has it listed, it must be a real word then. Makes mental note to check out botoxifciation, thunda-thighs and buggafication to see if dey is noe real wordz tu.

As for the infamous dictionary.com, what can I say? A superb tool for the breeding of morons springs to mind but that might be considered a little harsh, perhaps the wikipedia of spelling is more appropriate or the demented gnats guide to burgering a language. A 5 rated website.

That's where the space shuttle and the shutter release meet, isn't it?

Absolutely. You have no idea how many times someone has justified their spelling by writing "it's in there. you can look it up for yourself." (Although, the it's rarely has the apostrophe or has it afterwards, as in its'.)

I once met a photographer at Thaipusam who bought a 5D MKii and 24-105mm L glass and shoots only in auto as she has no idea about the technicals of photography. She was only interested in capturing images.

Is that right or wrong? I personally do not have an answer for that.

So so true, I get well fed up with Lense, and other terms such as "prime focus" in astrophotography which has been dumbed down by the US press to the point where only a few of us know what it really means.
