You can also see the details of the fur between the Nikon's prime & the Sigma's zoom. This of course, price is the main factor. Good try.

yeah...quality of the glasses are different...but for a 1K+ lens (sigma)...well, it's good bang for the $$$

Thanks for the positive comments.

The digiscope images of the White Tigers are 3.1 megapixel uncropped and sharpened (high) with Nikon Editor. The circular vignetting is the result of the Coolpix lens (no zoom) against the Fieldscope eyepiece (30X Wide). People like and hate this effect. It can be eliminated by zooming in the Coolpix lens.

Great shot, Ron. Good composition and detail. Talk about direct eye contact. I see you tried out chngpe01's big gun. Nice meeting you at the zoo yesterday.

Spectrum: No doubt the Nikon prime is much better than the Sigma zoom, however the Sigma is not a lens to be trifled with. It costs around $1k+ compared to the Nikon's $12k+ or so, but in the right hands and in good lighting, it can produce some amazing results. Look at rncw's zoo pics thread in this forum and you'll see what I'm talking about. Thumbsup for this great lens. (the Sigma 50-500)
