Default Help for new lens

My canon kit lens 28-90 rosak! so been hunting around for a new lens about this range. Any kind gurus out there can give the poor man some tips?

You wanna buy back the same lens? Just shout in the Buy & Sell forum and I bet there will be tons coming your way...

I thought I saw some 2nd hand ones at The Camera Workshop (TCW) too...

Or else invest some money getting a USM version of the same range and aperture.

Oh... hahaha the kit lens not very impressive though...... another of my idea was to get a 28mm - say 300mm......... any gd ones around?? or should i buy two separate lens? what say the gurus? advise. thanks

I think you should provide us with a budget.

Don't go for anything more than 28-200mm

I think you can try the Tamron 28-200 XR.. or Canon 28-135 IS

My vote is for the Tamron 24-135SP, much cheaper than the EF 28-135 and I feel the optics are sharper and offers more contrast.

Which doesn't really work. I've tried both lenses out in similar conditions and the tamron kicked the Canon's IS butt.

That's my OWN opinion so don't flame me. You try it out for yourself and figure it out. I'm just providing the thread starter with a pointer to explore, I'm not insisting he should go out and buy one right away.

Oh....... wow you guys reallly provided me valuable information. Btw how much's the tamron you were mentioning? Aniwae my budget not more than 400 bucks. Besides these lens, any to reccomend around this budget?
