    Just Joking....

Maybe TS friend sold off his equipment in oversea to buy his wife a Prada bag.....

    Moral of the joke.....

For whatever reason, his friend should repay him.

You are beginning to sound like "the friend". Quick cough out the camera.

Truly feel sorry for TS. But, if you lend to him, you should be prepared to lose them. You should always have a back up system since it is never wise to put your eggs in one basket. (ie, having 2 x D300 vs having 1 D700, etc).

Now, i coincidently have a buddy who lost his relative's diamond necklace and they suspect it was the MUA (make up artist) who took it!!! The bridesmaids were chatting away while the bride was busy changing. They realised it after leaving the premise! Now, how can a newly wed afford to pay an expensive item since it was a sentimental piece to begin with? Even if the couple takes the next 5 years to save up money to repay her back, money cant buy the diamond necklace back as the new jewelry does not hold any sentimental value to the lady who loan to them for the wedding.

So moral of story is, if an item is so dear to you, do not lend it out without you being around the item. But if you are kind, just let time be the test of this friendship. If your friend totally ignores you, then you know he probably pawn the item or sold it off at a camera shop along the way.

OT but just to share my experience.

I have a good friend who stole my mom's diamond ring when he stayed over. No evidence but there are only 3 person in the house. I kept my distance from him ever since. How to trust someone like that anymore? If he needed money, i could have loan to him. But by doing that, he cause my mom and I to have several huge quarrels as my mom feels heart pain and I keep defending my friend. If it is just money and losses, maybe it is not so bad. Sometimes the implication is beyond that. Till today, my mum still brings it up. She works hard and saved for that ring. You can see how hurt she is. I will never trust that friend again unless he comes and apologize to my mum personally.

I think TS can observe his friend. If he still splurg on other areas and failed to return the camera/equivalent amount of $. Then it only shows one thing. This friendship is not reciprocated.

    Since you ask for it:
