let me know how your mod turns out.
I've just written to harrison & Harrison to see whether they will make a custom hood with embedded IR filter for me.

possibly can MO this as well, if they can do it.

(I'm sure they can manage eg: circular polarisers as well)

I have done some research, and this is what I have found out.

Our equivalent to the 099 is our YL-6. This is equivalent to the Eastman
Kodak #G15. This filter transmits 1.0% at 510mu, and 19.4% at 520mu. This
filter is the closest to the 099 that we manufacture.

Our equivalent to the R72 is our RD-10, which is equivalent to the
Eastman Kodak's 88-A.

As for the 82mm screw in filter vignetting, we can cut the female threads
off the mount to make it a "thin" mount, however, you will not be able to
"stack" any other filters on to the 82mm. However, I do not know if this will
stop the vignetting.

The cost of these filters in 82mm screw in is $59.45. It is no problem to
ship into Singapore.

We do not manufacture Circular Polarizers. All of our pola's are linear.

To help you further understand the filters that we manufacture, attached
to this email is a listing of all the color filters we manufacture, along with
our current price list. On the price list, you will also see all the effect
filters that we manufacture.

Best regards,
Will Harrison

would anyone know if that would stop vignetting at 12mm on a 1.6x crop camera

harrison and harrison can't make anything other than a thin filter and according to dpreview "wilbert chan" it just wouldn't work.

ok: I bought myself a 82mm adapter and cokin P series wide angle adapter.

with the wide angle adapter on, there is vignetting up to 17mm.

without the wide angle adapter, vignetting up to 15mm. (ie: just the ring, in case I might want to super glue the IR gelatine filter onto the adapter ring.)

the wide angle adapter can still file away some couple of mm away, so that it might stop vignetting at 15mm.

I'll also try a rubber hood stuck into the petal hood to mount the the 82mm ring on it.
