Ok, I haven't posted for some time already.
Heres the first part of my 1 month trip to mexico. Short Intro Mexico is a deeply religious country, with 90% of its population Roman Catholic. Because of this, Mexico itself has many many churches, most of them with a with a spanish influenced architecture. Yes, Spain occupied Mexico, just as the British colonised Singapore. Mexico also has a lot of ruins from civilizations dating back thousands of years, from Mayan, Aztec, Olmec etc. For the first leg of my journney, i stopped at Oaxaca. Oaxaca (wah-ha-ka) is a colonial town, with narrow streets and a relaxing atmosphere. Oaxaca Streets, Early morning. End of the street is the Cathedral Cathedral City Center (Zocalo) at night. A place to chill, listen to the street performances and enjoy a cup of oaxaca's special hot chocolate. Ruins of Monte Alban. Much of Monte Alban was rebuilt since its discovery. Oaxaca Market. This stall sells a Oaxacan delicacy, Chapalines, or grasshoppers. Some museum entrance Carpet weaving at Teotitlan, a zapotec village. Ruins of Mitla. I've got plenty more photos, and much more to edit. And the photos get better. These photos were taken at the first leg (of the 8 stops we made), and i was just warming up. ![]() The rest of the photos from the leg can be viewed at http://darrelchia.fotopic.net/c113482.html ARRGGHH!!! ... anyone has any idea why the images are not hotlinking... i already place the required IMG tags!!
