    Interesting.

    We could rig a device with a live camera and a computer that samples the image pixels and convert it to sound. Such a device can be used to help blind people get a sense of their surroundings.

    Seems like it's reading the lines, the spaces in between (if any, black/white) and the height of the line (like a graph) to generate sounds... different compositions of the same subject would generate a different tone (and probably sound, depending on how it was photographed)
