Default Self-timer on Dynax 7

Hello,

I ran into this problem when my dad used my Dynax 7 on full auto P mode. He wanted to use the self-timer function but found that it would not activate even tho' he had turned the Drive mode dial to the self-timer position.

What gives? Self-timer cannot be used on full auto P mode? The LCD screen does not register the time of the shutter delay. On on A, S, M and P (non-full auto) does the timer delay appear. Is that is a quirk of the camera or am I missing something?

I just tried my 7.. behave the same way and all other settings do not work as well, I think it meant to turn Dynax 7 into a "P&S" camera.

Default Strange....mine looks okay

Hiee all...

As for my camera......if i set to any mode PASM, the timer remains (by setting the dial to timer).

However if i switch from the PASM to [P] - (green one) the timer goes to single frame advance mode. However, if i move the dial to other position and turn it back to timer....than it will go to the timer mode.....

Default Hahah.....its Custom Function 24..

Hieee TME...

I juz happened to read through the Minolta Users postings and stumbled upon this. thread.....

It looks like the problem that your dad faced - unable to set to timer....because the mode is set to

1- Full Auto Only.....

If you set to 2 - Change Possible...then you can do an Aperture or Shutter overide.......and also set EV's and Timer .....+ drive modes

Hope this helps alll DYnax 7 users...

rgds,
Sulhan

Precisely, but I was wondering why with Full Auto, I can't use self-timer?! I mean the fully auto mode is meant for P&S, and so self-timer is surely important to the P&S user as in those idiot-proof P&S cameras? Haiz..... so silly........

Anyway, any hope of doing the course? Just asking anyway, I know u're also very busy..... thanks!!! My students loved the course....
