Default Photos Taken At Hantu @ 31 Jan 04

Photos taken by my friend at Hantu yesterday.

http://sg.homeunix.com/gallery-paul/hantu310104

Cam used : Canon G5
Housing : 10 Bar
Strobe : Epoque ES 150DS
Video Light : Epoque EL-1020
Exposure Mode : Manual
Lens used : Epoque Macro Lens

Vis : Usual hantu ..1 to 2 hand

Very lucky that it didn't rain that day

Actually, you can really find quite a lot of small stuff over there. Just need to look really hard.
Cheer...

Well, i'm the one who took those pics.

anyway, unless you have mapped out hantu and know it by heart, i think it's a matter of luck spotting these. One thing for sure though, you should dive slowly if you want to see any of these. The flabellinas were about the size of a 5cent coin, chances are if you have dived at hantu, you probably swam over it without noticing it.

My actual site is

http://sg.homeunix.com/gallery-paul

Another hosted site is my friend's at

http://sg.homeunix.com/gallery

Have fun.

Wonderfull Photos, Do share more with us,

Just a little nit-pick though, some of the photos seems a bit under-exposed,

None the less the shot with the rhinophores of the Phyllidia species. is a keeper.!

Thks. Will improve.. i hope... this is the second time i'm using this camera and the first time i'm using a strobe, and i'm very new to underwater photography. Excuses aside, will do my best next time ok!

anyway, which is the shot you like? i'm not too familiar with the exact names for everything, still learning.

Cheers!

the Shot that i specifically liked is the seaslug_1284 shot, Composition and Focusing is spot on, but a little nit-pick, it seems to be to be underexposed, as if there is not enough light hitting the subject.

This shot clownfish_1370 is quite good as well, composition and Focusing is very well handled. Another nit-pick would be the colours, seems too red for me, is it because of the video lights or were there PS involved.?

none the less Great Effort, keep them coming

Hi there WhyZzzzzz

you are able to "hotlink" photos to clubsnap from your site, this will create more impact for your pictures and will benefit our forum members when they are refering or looking back at the threads,

you might want to try it

["IMG]http://sg.homeunix.com/albums-paul/hantu310104/seaslug_1284.sized.jpg[/IMG"]

Just take away the "

None the less you should follow the forum rules where the Photos should around 600 X400 pixels.

Keep the photos comin'

Hi,

in bit bulky, but built with the kind of material you can kill ppl with. hehehe
have yet to test it at 100m, but it looks strong enough to do it.

controls i must say .... isn't very user friendly. take for example the flash/macro/focus buttons...on the camera those are 3 different buttons...on the housing , there is only one button, you have to twist the button left or right to place the pin over one of those buttons then press. this wastes alot of precious time underwater. same goes for the up/down/left/right button. one button to serve 4 buttons.

the other thing is the front scroll. if you use manual mode, this scroll button is crucial. the button on the housing needs to be pushed in abit to enable the button to come in contact with the scroll, before there is enough friction to turn the scroll. however, it is easy.. very easy to push it in too much, causing the scroll to activate the next tab. eg. ShutterSpeed -> F/stop.

Other than those kirks...the housing is still ok to use. If i had the money, like a couple of thousand dollars to spare, i would get subal housing. but at $3.8K, i think not.

If you would like to see the housing, maybe we can arrange some convenient day to meet up and i could let you have a feel of it.

Cheers.

Paul
