Hi,
I am a novice in photography and would like some help on the following before deciding which camera to buy: I have read many articles on the 5050/5060 comparison and am puzzled for the following: 1. Some reviews claim that 5060 perform very well even at low lighting conditions. Is this true? 2. 5050 has a brighter lens. How to compensate that for the 5060 for a given low light situation? Alvin. PS: I like the 5060 but am concern with the not so bright lens as compared to 5050. |

2. camera will "compensate" by using a slower shutter speed for the same lighting conditions compared to the 5050.

Say 5060 at 2.8 using 1/30 and 5050 at 1.8 using 1/60 without flash but both mounted on a tripod. Does this mean the two photographs taken are identical?

Faster LENS is good to have but C5050 Lens don't have any ED element. I used to own a C5050 which is sold to Kelster. And now has a C5060W which is up for sales as I already got the Olympus E-1 DSLR. Advantages about C5060W over C5050 are, 1. 28-110mm which is handly for indoor when space is small, 2. C5060 has ED element where C5050 dun. 3. 180deg flip LCD, 4. Got Battery Grip, 5. Li-ion Battery last longer and recharge faster than AAA, 6. Don't required Tube to attached filter to protect the lens, 7. lastly, lower noise on picture. Just my 2 cents thought. ![]() |
