There is a small push cart store selling Mr Yip's work at Chinatown, near the Buddha Tooth Relic temple, same street as the Austrian bratwurst seller.

I was quite lucky, managed to meet My Yip's son, DR Yip, by chance, very nice guy. National Library did hold an exhibition on Mr Yip's work during their opening ceremony if I am not wrong.

If I am not wrong, My Yip is know as the photographer of the century.

Mr. Yip was staying in a row of shophouses along
Kreta Ayer Rd in China town. He must have a photo
    shop in the same premises.

Almost every Sunday morning at about 7.00am he would
be standing outside his house with a tripod and a
Hasalblad camera fixed on top waiting for a friend to fetch
him for his regular photographic outing.

I was staying at a block of HDB flat just above the
shophouses. When I look out and down of my window
I saw Mr. Yip with his tripod and camera almost every
    Sunday morning.

The winners in the colorslides section of
The 3rd International Photography Salon 1978
    organised by SCPS.

It is interesting to find some of these photographers
are still very active in their contributions. One of them
I know is Foo Tee Jun.

    Yap, KO is right.
Mr Goh Kim Hui is still the vice-chairman of PSS and teaching Studio Lighting, FlashLight and some classes in the Digital Basic.

Quite a lot of the photographers are still very active in both PSS and SCPS, like Mr Foo Tee Jun, Mr Lawrence Lau, Mr Michael Heng and etc...

These leaders certainly have earned our respect for
putting our country up front in this imaging world
of creativity as Dr. Ow had appreciated and pointed
out in his message in 1978.

What are your views and opinions of what the pioneers
    have done so far?

Anyone remember The Camera Club of Queenstown Community Centre?

In 1974 they organised the National Photographic Exhibition at
The Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Exhibition Hall - Hill Street, Singapore.

    It was opened by:
The Hon. Mr. Jek Yuen Thong,
    Minister for Culture,
    on the 4th April, 1974.

The 1974 Council of the Camera Club of Queenstown
with Advisor: Mr. Ong Kian Chai.

Anyone knows if any of the council members or the
    Chairman Mr. Wong Seok Jee?

Thank you MrKami for taking up this thread in which
I want to share some light into the history of the local
    photography community.

In the early 70s I was just starting out and thirty years
later it would be wonderfully joyful to be able to contact
some of our peers at that time.

I would be grateful if you could kindly bring us more light
into what you have to share in this thread.

Perhaps someone you know has not been around already
and you feel sad. It's sentimental and could bring tears
and sad memories of the losses. However the ability to
share more details could bring folks who are still around
to fullfil their dreams of contacting their past peers.

I thank you for your participation.

It looks like the Macpherson CC Photographic Club is still
very active. The club is having a photographic exhibition
at the Bras Basah Complex at Level One. It was still on
when I went there on Monday 26th Oct 2009.
