    Hello, headfonz.
If you have persons in the family who are still in school, or even in tertiary education, you can check this out:

If not, then Lightroom and Photoshop CS4 can cost the same amount as a brand new imac.

you can check out http://www.mine.com.sg/mall/productlist/4891 but do read the terms of buying. have (or am) a full time teacher/student in primary, secondary, independent, NIE, JC? see if they can help.

    For free software....

You can download the Lightroom 3 beta and use it for free...

Otherwise, Picassa for Mac is also quite decent if you want a quickfix.

    For a small price,

You can try Pixelmator... a Photoshop lookalike but at a fraction of the price.
Pictures always should have a special story behind it or a special meaning to the photographer.

    GIMP: http://www.gimp.org/macintosh/

i used this on windows before i got my mac w/ photoshop... very straight-forward program, similar to photoshop, but if you're used to it it's a lil harder. some say that it's even better. very good program.

edit: if i'm not wrong, it can't process raw... i tried it once. please clarify if possible. thanks.
