Default Portable drive for direct CF transfer needed

    Hallo,

I'll be travelling overseas, and I need a portable drive to store all my images (direct CF - Drive transfer) coz I'll be shooting mostly RAW.

Any recommendations? I hardly know anything about drives and stuff so I need a bit of advice here. Need something hardy coz conditions might not be too conducive for a pansy drive haha. Also, budget is an issue too so I would really like to know approx. price.

    Thanker yews.

Vosonic VP8860 is great. U can get it at Eastgear near Lavender MRT. Or u shd do a search coz I think alot of CSers' have this model.
There are some other choices like Epson which has a superior screen but very costly n storage not that big.

A screen is not a requirement actually

I just need something small with a huge space and very hardy, coz it's gonna be in my backpack which is probably gonna be getting thrown around a lot, shoved under other packs, and have a high chance of getting wet as well. Gonna use clingwrap to counter the wet part. Haha.

    NextoCF.

You can get it from Eastgear.

    http://www.eastgear.com/storage-memory.html

I'm not sure if IT Image is still selling the NextoCF.

Put it in a Pelican or Otterbox box for backpacking travel.

    do a simple calculation
and you will find that the price of the Box alone
is able to buy you a LOT of CF cards....

After your trip you may sell them off...its still worth it
I did it for my last trip.

No one buys those portable storage any more
