Default Do you use DVD +R or -R to back up photos

    Hi all,

Which one is better to back up photos, DVD +R or -R ?
Any rule of thumbs on when to use +R and when to use -R ?

The +R and -R are just different standards. I personally use +R though my drive supports both. I read somewhere -R is more readable on a wider variety of drives though.

I've read that any W format, ie. +RW or -RW, are not the best for archival storage of photos. They do not last as long as the R formats.

cKiang ... I actually read somewhere that +R has better compatibility than -R. Would to do some more research before I burn too many DVDs to backup my photos.

    Thanks all for replying.

    DVD-R I get per disc S$2.00. The lower $$$ I used DVD-R X2 speed only.
