I have a problem with Firefox.
Every now and then, I get this two messages.

    1.Windows cannot find
    http:www.google.com.sg
Make sure you typed the name correctly
2.Firefox is already running, but is
not responding. To open a new window you must first close the
existing firefox process or restarting your system.

Problem temporily solved when I restart, sometimes it happens very frequently,
    Can any kind soul help.
    Tks

Take this as the advice you don't want to use because you will lose your settings and extensions.

If the problem were happening to me, I would guess that it's a problem with extension conflict or bookmark database corruption. I'm not sure what version you're using but you should be using 3.5.7 now.

    I would:

    1. Save my bookmarks by selecting Bookmarks menu->Organize Bookmarks... and using the menu option to Export HTML. Then, I would put that file where I couldn't lose it.
    2. I would remove/de-install Firefox and all the settings.
    3. After that, I would download a fresh installer, install Firefox, and import the bookmarks.

It's not too difficult, unless the settings cannot be removed with the Firefox application, but you would have to set things to your liking again afterwards. You might think about it, if you don't have a better alternative.

Thanks for advise. Will try out according to your procedures.
If worse come to worse, remove Firefox.

I hope it works well after that. It's an extreme way to fix it, but I did it myself after my upgrade to Firefox version 1.5 and haven't had a serious problem since then.

You might also try the Google Chrome browser as an alternative or Opera or even Apple Safari. Chrome is nowhere near finished but it works fairly well.
