Ahh Cpt Yoges. The fat man. He is a very very nice OC. I was under him during my recruit days in old Tekong when we slept in long houses...kinda like kampung hee hee...

Was a recruit there and i rememeber the first day we touch down at Tekong. Ali baba bag and all and we proceeded to our respective training sheds to meet our instructors. My Sgt was BOS that day and had a red sash across his shoulders. Looking around he was the only Sgt with the red sash. Kinda kan chiong already, why my Sgt so special and fierce man. First thing he said was why so slow, made the whole platoon Ali Baba over head and run round shed a few times hahaha...scary...kenna check clothing sizes in the open...then came to the black swimming trunks...gross (u had to put them on in the open...)

Thereafter went for ACT then to Armour BRC. Tekong was a fav training area for us...smelt very blade of grass there...

    Siong siong over liao...now ICT...

    Dragon One Three hee hee

We POP'ed in Bedok Camp. Damn shiok cos can sleep out and i live in the East.

Special things...errr had this guy with "3rd eye" in our company. My Sgt was Tahlil (sp?).

Also remember last time no handphone...had to queue like mad when using the handful (yes handful) of pay phones to call home, call gf, call gf2 (just kidding)...

Then in Armour handphones still very expensive and have to queue for phones...can even fight over usage...

Cookhouse food was authentic, be glad u tasted SAF cuisine before cos such skills no one has any more now

Yoges is a nice guy, though fat but he tried to lead recruits running whenever he could.

btw, is camp 1 still around, or has been pulled down for the new camp ?

    2) Specialist: Spending my 20th birthday as a specialist on an exercise in Tekong. Huddled under a basha, pouring rain, trying to save my cigarette. Dropping my instant mee while harbouring, having a huuge wild boar eating it barely 4 metres away from me when I was standing-to.

    3) ORD: 5 days to ORD, without license stole the rover on a weekend COS day, and took the rover for a spin. Slacking and playing PS with the other COSes in their company line. Climb up to the roof of my company, watch the sunset.
Takumi, guess u were from Jaguar coy like me? The bunk was 6 storeys up....damn siong when it comes to change parade!! I went in during Jan 98', was the VERY LAST BATCH to eat the cookhouse food there. Was also assigned to do the VERY LAST cookhouse fatigue the day before POP, cleared up everything inside before SFI (or is it NTUC?) came and took over. =P

Can never forget the SOC route. And the "leisure" march from Camp 3 to Camp 1 for swims. And of cos....the manual zero-ing of M-16s...where you had to run to your target and mount/change the Canadian Bull before/after you fire. =))
I also dun recall it raining a day during my BMT. Hot like **** everyday.

After BMT, the next time i went to Tekong was during my unit days...for some Armour-Infantry training. Damn envious of the chalet when i saw it.
