I think he is saying about the man at the background checking his watch...

super-abstract mood! feels like "pause" in the middle of watching a movie

thanks everyone for your comments!

ruthbaby - the man on the right, cat and broom on the left set the scene for 'clementi central' (where the photo was taken) and frame the subject of the man at center carrying out the 'time check' on his watch.

of course there are many ways to view this scene... would welcome any alternative titles from fellow clubsnappers!

Just 1 qn.
Did u think think of the title only after the photo was taken?
Or u already had that in mind before u snapped?

Title came to mind after the photo was taken (I have to admit that this is true of 99% of my street shots). At that time, I was more concerned about capturing the moment, and frankly only noticed that the man at center was checking his watch when i reviewed the photo later. Street photographs often reveal more than what the human eye (mine at least!) can take in at the time of depressing the shutter.

Man on the right steals away the attention from your main subject - which I suppose is the one doing the time check. Try alternative angles or even a simple tilt, to get a shot that looks and feels more than a mere snapshot.

Really abstract, the man on the right tells you where to look as he is looking at ...... hence you will focus on the man checking the time

without words this shot would be meaningless

but i like it, not a lot, not as much as the girl in the macdonalds window, but i like it.. say just about 60-70% out of 100.

you need to edge burn more to not make the whole scene so bright and it sorta takes away attention from the subject.

Abstract shot indeed. Don't know if it's intended, but isn't it weird that the only watch you see in the photo belongs to the man in the front, and not the man supposedly checking the time?

And that cat.. it's just so suggestive of the Schrödinger's Cat of Quantum Physics which is all about space-time paradox stuff... you like science?

it was intended to be a "street shot", but it's interesting that it turned to to be more of an "abstract shot". yes i like science, but am not really familiar with the space-time theory or schrodinger's cat...

I don't think it's that complicated IMHO I personally feel that the cat doesn't fit into the picture, not to mention the guy on the right. His line of sight is more onto the direction of the broom rather than the guy in the middle.

The idea of using them as a frame is good but I would think the title is slightly off in this case since all the subjects in the picture gives different impression.

How about "Eye Contacts" or "Perspectives" for a title instead or something along that line :P

But then again it's my neng jiam that may be worthless Cheers!
