Default Buying tripod in Germany cheaper?

    Hi all,

Since I am in Germany/Switzerland for the next 2 weeks, can anyone advice if it is cheaper to get a tripod (Gitzo or Manfrotto) over here? Any recommended shops?

I don't think so. My roommate is a swiss guy and he paid alot more for his gear especially his manfrotto 055XPROB and ballhead in Switzerland. EU is alot more expensive that other places.

The GST is VERY high there. Definitely not worth it.

I think depending on where you shop, you could get a VAT refund.

    Here's a link I found, http://europeforvisitors.com/europe/...e_shopping.htm

ignoring the VAT tax, the price of the tripod's a little more expensive than what you get in singapore. so get it in singapore.
    pedantic.

Gears in Europe are generally more expensive.

Thank you everyone for your comments! Guess SG is still a better place to buy a tripod.
