How did a thread abt 'Hurt Locker' became one abt " Favourite war/related movie I watched"...lol

Anyway, it won accolades Not for its any hint of realism but the story telling & suspense/tension...
Is there ANY war movie that can claim to be realistic with no one/especially veterens criticizing?...lol

I esp. like that its by a lady-like lady Director...

The film has undergone a lot of criticism. http://www.newsweek.com/id/234064

Frankly I thought the main character's gung-ho cowboy attitude was quite off-putting. But it deserved to win over Avatar.

    Saw Green Zone last week.

Felt that the whole movie is grainy, especially the night scene. Also a lot of out of focus shots. Is it shot using DSLR?

Did you know that tHL was filmed almost entirely in Jordan, just a distance away from Iraq.
Many yrs back on free to air Channel 5 there was this war TV series entitled 'Over There' which was about a unit of the United States Army's Third Infantry Division on its first tour of duty in Iraq. However the 'Iraq sequences' were mostly filmed in the California desert. It's quite good but dun't know why it ended suddenly

    What about 'Generation Kill'?

I have this set in my amazon cart, together with Hurt Locker and District9.

Anymore good recommendations? Need to fill up the cart, shipping charges more worth it.

    Canon 1D mk3/ 16-35L II/ 35L / 135L / 85 f1.8/ 580EX II / Canon G11

Are you looking for war/post war movies only, action movies, or err.. (actually about to recommend 500 Days Of Summer, or My Sister's Keeper)

    Thanks.
Not looking for war movies in particular.
Anything that is good. Documentaries also welcome.

What about Jennifer's Body? Horror with Megan FOX!
