    Default Hoya HMC filters

    Hi there,

i just got a hoya filter today and i asked the sales person for a hoya super HMC one, as i am using a pretty old nikon lens and the lens surface is definitely not coated, unlike newer lenses that comes already coated.

i paid 25 bucks for a 52mm one, but after reaching home, i realize that the filter does not say "hoya super HMC UV filter" or anything along that line that suggests its super HMC.

instead it says " hoya UV(0)"

    is hoya UV(0) = super HMC ?

or did the salesperson mis-heard me and gave me a normal UV filter.

    can anyone enlighten me?

    thanks.

I last bought a len from someone told the filter is HMC but it doesn't indicate, and later I saw some other photosgrapher at fashion shoot got Super HMC engraved.

Just check the packaging and you got it. Chances are that you got a normal one. "Super HMC" should be on the rim.

    Good evening,

If there's no HMC or Super HMC inscribed around the filter ring along with the UV(0), then it's just an uncoated UV filter.

Can i know the colour of the box ?
For your info, the box of Hoya Super HMC UV(0) and Hoya Super HMC Pro1 (0) are both in Black, it stated coating on both sides on bottom front label.

If u got the normal Hoya UV (0)the front label should be purple colour
If u got Hoya HMC UV(0) without the word Super, the front label should be Silver colour

Any bros can correct me if i am wrong
