Evidently, uploaders did not read the terms and conditions.

Most images did not comply to this condition:
Participant must upload a photo of himself/herself, a friend or
family member only. Photo must be a minimum of 1MB in size.
Another thing: why DBS did not at least put the basic T&C on Flickr.

So, how many will qualify ?

Read other terms and conditions too. They are quite "unqiue" ...
Or upload the biggest and highest resolution you can get .

This is a contest and not a job. It will not KILL the livelihood of the pros. The objective is to capture the moment of emotion and being professional is secondary. 1MB is about 2-3 megapixel, which is just good for an old phone camera. The reason, I suppose, is for it to be printable and posted on webpages. And frankly, I have to agree with DBS to keep the prize low so that professionals will stay away and let amateurs and camwhores win once in a while. I'll probably submit a photo of my neice, and if she gets picked then she will get her 15min of fame and have a new $50 toy. For those who keeps thinking about the prize, it just kills the fun out of the contest. THIS WILL NOT REPLACE basic professional advertisements.

and to quote someone else... "Unfortunately, we Singaporean are basically selfish at heart....."
