A voice-recognition transcriber.
This is a box not larger than the size of a packet of cigarette. It is essentially a printer.
Put it on a piece of paper and start talking.
It will recognise your words and 'tak tak tak tak...' start printing them onto the piece of paper.
Hehehe... just my humble dream.
Why are people so bent on innovation?
There are many established technologies out there that, especially in today's context, are still immersely powerful.
Sg's govt has been pushing for innovation, but i doubt anything useful will come out of it.
Reason? People too often ignore existing technology. By trying too hard to look forward they ignore the paths others have taken.
I once spoke to a local "researcher" who refused to work on control systems related to flight and robotics because someone has done it before and the technology has been established. He wanted to do something new.
In other words, we are refusing to adopt existing established technologies. Sure, others have the technology, but we sure as hell don't, and we rather look anther way than develop it ourselves. This is the so-called drive for innovation.
This is boston dynamics. They showed what "established" control systems can do.
This is sg's very own quadruped. 4 legs with wheels.
I would like to invent a simple threaded cable release interface for modern Nikon cameras. This would assure that Nikon cannot get away with destroying a time proven, utterly simple, elegant, reliable, and durable feature and replacing it with a "take it or leave it" battery dependent, relatively more complex, fragile, remote controller which sells for the absurd price of USD $175.
I am convinced that this one is actually do-able.
End Of Rant
A Certified Dinosaur using Nikons F, F2, D700, Leica M3, & Kiev 4a
whoa...the lion dance thingy is so lame...
A machine that could tell me the winning number for the lastest 4D, TOTO...... and I'll keep it all to myself.
Scuba & Father... For Life
Something to turn fart into fragrance and absorb the sound.
We may have to wear a scented pad or something.
The only people who still write are the students (of course, there are others who still write lah). But then again, we can't expect everyone of them to talk to that machine... the whole class talking at the same time would drive the teacher crazy.
