Thread: RAW - Compressed or Uncompressed

Default RAW - Compressed or Uncompressed

Do you shoot in uncompressed format for the faster processing speed while scarificing the megabits on the memory? Or vice versa? Personally, I choose lossless compressed.

Memory cards are cheap compared to that priceless moment. At most do some housekeeping at the end of the day.

Always fire in RAW unless you need to upload it immediately and don't have a computer nearby (which sounds contradictory).

U probably meant the other way round. I personally use compressed raw more often than uncompressed for faster processing and smaller files.

Uncompressed RAW = no lost in data; bigger file size but faster processing time
Lossless compressed RAW = no lost in data; smaller file size (approx 60% less than uncompressed)
Lossy compressed RAW = some data lost; smaller file size.

    But what is sraw?
