I like the 2nd and last shot best. There's so much to see in the last pic. It makes your eyes wander just a little more and the old man in red also helps to anchor the shot.
The second shot's got a nice composition. |

I like your first shot. I don't know why it reminds me of an old Sailboat. Maybe the angle its taken...
For the 2nd shot, I keep seeing the guy in the middle in color... The building shots looks like you're really bored... joke joke But your last shot is very happening. It's not just the motion blur, but more so the few faces that are sharp and conveys different interactions. Can almost hear the music from the colorful old man in front. Wish I can take such nice pics when I'm uninspired... sigh Last edited by longshot; 14th January 2004 at 09:14 AM. |

Me just starting to get back into photography after a long, long break. I also find that sometimes when I intend to go shooting, it can be a very uneventful day. Could go on snapping but nothing great comes out of it. But sometimes, inspiration and sights just comes naturally... e.g. just last night, the colors of the bay and no-sign-board restaurant caught the corners of my eyes when i was driving home across Nicoll hiway last night, last forthnight the moon above sheares bridge was floating on top of clouds giving a long glow across the marina, etc. all of these caught my eyes when i don't have a camera with me. *sigh* Most of the time, a winning shot is a combination of luck, timing and our eyes. ![]() |

Hi SniperD, thx for sharing ur pics!
Some comments; 1st pic- interesting subject interms of colours and texture. However, the blown-out sky at the right adds nothing to the photo, perhaps can crop that away and have a wider expanse of the scaffold netting instead. 2nd pic - good pic! would be even more interesting of the man in the middle was the only person facing the camera. 3rd pic - nice concept of using the blue-striped tarpaulin as a double framing for the shophouses above and the people below. suggest using smaller aperture to get the tarpaulin in focus as well (especially the top part) and perhaps a bit more exposure to reveal details of the people below. 4th and 5th pics - Suggest waiting a bit longer for something interesting to happen... e.g. 2 birds flying towards each other in the sky in 4th pic, wizened old man smoking next to the bike in the 5th pic. 6th pic - excellent shot! my fav!
