Canon 8800F scanning tips
Hi all,
Just got a 8800F yesterday. Tried to scan with the default canoscan the results were totally disappointing. Colors were way off and oversaturated and the image wasn't sharp at all. Then I tried downloading vuescan and it was suddenly so much better and I get better details in the shadows and highlights. But sharpness wise still lose to the scans that i get from fotohub beach road. Both softwares had all their usm, dust removal etc turned off as I wanted to do that in PS instead. Can fellow users care to share their workflow? I'm scanning at 2400dpi now in jpeg. Still thinking whether i should invest in vuescan or give up this scanning altogether. Was thinking of going into RF, but now with the disappointing results i'm having second thoughts. Last edited by Mystix; 30th September 2009 at 12:17 PM. |

Hi Mystix,
Can you advise what you are scanning, slide or film? Also, can you post an example bad scan here?
