PHASE ONE 645DF w/F-Plane & Leaf Shutter

Hi All,

The Newly introduce PHASE ONE 645DF comes with both focal plane and leaf shutters. It can provide Flash Sync at 1/1600sec!!! It also support AFD digital back mount. Body price starts at US$5,990 and Lens at $2,490. I hope the price of body includes a digital back. I think it will still be cheaper than the Leica S2.

At USD6K body with a medium format digital back? I think many manufacturers will go out of business very soon...

A digital back will cost at least USD10K to USD20K alone.

With US$6k u might as well buy Mamiya AFD III with cheaper Kodak digital back. Yes S2 is my favourite as well.Leica has ceased partnership with Phase One, now Phase One bought over Leaf. i suppose Leica wana fight with Phase One,dun know what's going on. S2 using Kodak sensor though..

The new Phase is still the same Mamiya built camera with the clunky mirror and the vague focus .
Leafs Afi and Sinars Hy6 cameras came with alot of promise but it buried Leaf and Sinar .
Too many behind the scene happenings in Phase , Mamiya , Leaf and Leica.

I will stick with my stable Hasselblad !

It has been consistently good since H1 , H2 , H3 and H3DII .
And now comes, The H4D-60 with True Focus with APL (Absolute Position Lock) making auto-focus substantially easier and more accurate.
This follows the GPS and Tilt shift adapter for 5 HC lenses last year and Hasselblad winning the 2009 TIPA best medium format system award .
All the rest can only try but it is good old consistency they must emulate.
Or else they will be like the poor Leaf Afi and Sinar Hy6 owners left very stranded .
