anyone used this for WB adjustment?

Search the forum for Exposdisc to find existing htreads about sich WB caps.
If you shoot RAW you don't need it really, can do all adjustments later. For jpg and tricky light conditions it's quite useful, also to get a reference frame for later correction. There are cheap DIY solutions (foam cap), cheap products like your Vivicap and white cards / grey cards and there's Expodisc as the most expensive tool.

Also useful for RAW if you want to get rid of a certain colour cast and you don't have any white or grey reference material in the frame. Read about White Balance, check with your own images. Most cameras do fairly well with outside situations, use the given presets there. Indoors the light can be everything, depending on the used types of lamps, tubes, bulbs ... here it's quite useful.
