    Getting closer now...

work on it and keep practising. Once you keep shooting, you'll get a better hang of it.

You don't need a super duper new fangled all bells and whistles DSLR to take sharp pictures. Even your PnS can give acceptable quality.
Just learn to use whatever support available to steady the camera and try to reduce flash to lowest level if possible, if not adjustable, a sheet of tissue paper over the flash window helps tremendously.
    GOD Bless.
hmmm....tissue paper...interesting idea. Thanks! Trying trying trying to snap better, sharper and see already happy type of photos! heheh...

    2nd one looks great
The other two are not sharp. Either you were too close again or your focus locks somewhere else. Do you have any markings on the display? Usually there are some squares or so indicating the area where focus and exposure are locked on. Check with your manual for details. But you see, it's not impossible to get good and shapr pics with your small cam

Ditto on that second pic.... tat's how you want your pics to be, clear and sharp. Now, time to move the cot to a window area, that's where you'll get good diffused lighting without harming your kid. (make sure the sun is not shining directly in)

Try again and you'll find that you'll have very good lighting and shooting chances.

Next up, google up on GIMP. It's a freeware where you can start editing your pics. Needs a lil learning though.

There's a rectangle on the centre of the LCD which either shows red or green. Honestly, as of now, i still dun know how i succeeded in taking the 2nd photo. Yea...i have to agree with u that its possible for sharp photo. But its a tad bit discouraging that after taking 40-50 photos, that's the only one that is good. heheh...will still try more.

    Cheers

Then back to a very common question: where is your manual? RTFM Hope you still have it, otherwise try Exilim Website, Support - Manuals and get the pdf version.
Just browsed through briefly but it seems you can't get anything better than this single AF frame. In this case please step back further, get more space and aim the focus frame at the eyes. Don't shift the camera after getting focus (as described in the manual for some landscape scenes). On such short distances that you have here you will lose the focus due to very shallow Depth of Field. Also, steady your hands, check all the simple things to avoid handshake. Practice and take note how to achieved the good shots. As you see it is possible to get good pictures. So it can't be the camera only

When your kid grows up and start running around, you may find yourself asking the same question again.

yeah, check your breathing! (no kidding!), breathe in, *half press focus, and shoot!*, breathe out!
    Licence to shoot.
