Default Pentax *ist D Firmware Update

http://www.pentaxusa.com/products/ca...std_fw_110.htm

Among the few changes made, probably the most interesting one is that metering is now possible with pre-A series lenses. Pentax decided to support the old lenses after all.

(Teeny weenie bit of history for non-Pentax aficionados: When the Pentax *ist D was announced and subsequently shipped to stores, it came with a "crippled" k-mount and does not support metering with the older, pre-A series of manual focus lenses - a move pioneered by Nikon with their newer AF SLR bodies. While unhappy, Pentax fans acknowledge that in order to sell more lenses and hence increase profits, this move seem inevitable. The v1.10 firmware update however brings back some backward compatibility... an interesting twist to Pentax's confusing strategy)
