Default Which lens is better value for money?

Hi, I came across these two lens, Canon EF-S 18-200mm F/3.5-5/6 IS USM and Tamron AF18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 XR Di II LD Aspherical (IF). I was wondering which is better value for money?

Go to google, search for reviews (hint: photozone.de) and then make up your own mind.

Hi, kimzzz. Like what Rashkae bro has mentioned, you may try to enter your lenses into the 'Search' function on CS page.
You'd be surprised what has been discussed previously. I learnt a lot from these discussions.

For your question, there is one thread which is not exactly what you have asked but in my opinion, close enough.
    Try this link:

Welcome to CS, and remember, give the 'Search' function a chance.

It's really hard to give a definite answer.
Best is to read online reviews of both lenses, look at sample images, and read postings by other owners. If a large number complain about certain quality defects, chances are this lens is not good.

My guess is that the Tamron is the cheaper lens, but whether the quality difference is negligible compared with the price difference, that's up to you to decide.
    Exploring! :)
