I Accidentally opened the back cover of my film cam! I'm i dead? throw away the whole film and buy new one? can help? noob in film. maybe i shld nt try film...

If it was already at the end of the spool, the front part would still be ok if you had quickly closed it back. Only some frames at the end would be damaged. If it is a new roll of film then just wind forward and waste the few front frames.

haha, thanks for ur answer, lucky its the front of the film. film cam is from my grandfather de. he passed away and the cam is now mines. wats medium format?

FYI MF film is not the standard film you see in most photo stores. It is a larger format than 35mm and way larger than the format of most digital cameras. It gives technically much sharper shots than the D3X, 5D Mk2 and 1Ds Mk3 at large magnifications. For digital medium format, the backs can have more than resolutions of 50MP.
If you compare the medium format film size to your 1.5x APS-C sensor of your D60, the film is about 4x the size of your sensor. |
