Smile My very 1st wedding shoot

Covered my cousin's wedding in november as a "kaypoh" photographer (cuz I was a greenhorn in wedding shoot so din dare to take up the challenge), she had engaged a professional to cover the wedding.

I tried not to obstruct or vie with the main photographer for pose/shoots so I had to seize any candid moments or shots that IMHO look 'interesting'.

Pls feel free to give comments/critiscisms so that I can further improve my skill. Btw not many folks will like my way of taking pics - as in the unconventional way - 45 degrees/slanted composition. So well yeahh.. pls enjoy the 'trip' - www.urbanpixel.net/thewedding

Thanks for your time.

I think it is a very decent attempt.

Your close up are ok but i find most of your pictures... those in the house not evenly lit up. A little little bit underexposed... actually it is ok but can do with a little more flash bounce up the ceiling.

Quite nice...

Just went through the entire series. I find it very well done esp. together with the commentary. Great work.

If you said that this is your first try, all I can say it's a very good try.

Good effort and well captured candids/shots.

You've basically captured everything a main photographer should catch.

Well, everyone has his/HER first time. Shoot more and learn more. My humble suggestion: for wedding type of portraiture, do NOT tilt too much. It's my personal taste so if you dun agree with me then it's fine. I found tilted angles in wedding events are usually not pleasing. Also be careful of using WA in close distance. Watch out facial distortion. Most brides do not like to see funny distortions. This is one of the major differences from street candid portraiture.

Just my 2 shots worth.

Thanks tomshen for your constructive feedback.

Actually I resorted to tilted shots cuz the main photog has the prime area and I'm left with 'breadcrumbs' aka undesired spot.. hence there's some unsightly stuffs that I do not want to capture in my photo and therefore the "tilted" shots come in..

If I've ever have the chance to be the main photog, I will defintely take less of the tilted shots as I'll have all the area to myself.. muahahhaa

Hrmm, may I know which of the images you find has facial distortion? Cuz I did not use WA at all during the whole shoot.. I will only use WA for tea ceromany and the table shoot during the dinner.. however I did not take those as I left it to the paid photog
