    from channelnewsasia.com:

Hamilton backs Piquet to make F1 return

of cos the pork slice would say this. what else can we expect from a liar and his cuckoo?

speaking of which, i was amazed to read that piquet was the mastermind who later got immunity and blew the whistle on his own team. what an idiot.

I always think that he is a lousy driver. Sometimes, he drove like an idiot too!

Latest news is that Bernie wants Flavio to appeal his ban for life. I dunno what to make of it.

if you are using that lens, stick to f4 and ISO 800 or higher. if the shutter speed is too fast, then lower the ISO or increase the aperture setting.

Two motoring fans plan to launch community-owned F1 team from Singapore
By Patwant Singh, Channel NewsAsia | Posted: 24 September 2009 2238 hrs

SINGAPORE: Two Singapore-based motoring journalists are planning to start the world's first community-owned F1 team.

The duo are hoping to raise the million-dollar funding from thousands of members globally and will initially operate the venture from Singapore.

Ben Potter and Ian Baldwyn launched the "myownf1team" website to get members to subscribe and collectively own an F1 team.

Mr Potter said: "We are talking to a few teams this weekend about investing in the team with decision making powers."

Mr Baldwyn said: "Obviously, with the global economic crisis, there has been less money around, as evident by Honda pulling out, BMW pulling out and so on. So we have tried to make this a way of being accessible to the man-in-the-street on a collective basis; you know, very small amount adds to a very large amount, if you have enough people interested."

The idea of community ownership is common in the football world. Each member may have to fork out about 300 euros and in return gets free tickets and discounts on merchandise. Trustees will guard the funds to ensure security.

The idea is to own a stake in an existing team and be eventually based where the original team comes from.

The duo were tight-lipped about the three teams they will be approaching. But they said the other Singapore connection could come from naming rights.

If parties were keen, the team could be named as a Singapore team, for a fee.

They are targeting to eventually raise US$7m to US$70m to buy a stake in an F1 team.

But some motor sports experts are doubtful about the idea.

A motor racing team is not new to Singapore. In 2006, a group of investors got together to set up a team to compete in the A1 GP.

But the venture soon ran into trouble. Financial difficulties and driver issue saw the team lasting for only one season.

Then the fund raising should approach maybe New Creation Church, coz they raised $12M in one day for the building of their new premises.

Massa set to make low-key return in Karting

Ferrari's Felipe Massa is to race in a karting event in Brazil in November as he continues his recovery from near-fatal head injuries.

The Brazilian suffered a fractured skull in July when a spring flew off Rubens Barrichello's car and hit him on the helmet above his left eye.

"I'm going to take part again in the International Challenge of the Stars," said Massa, 28, in a promotional video.

Michael Schumacher and Barrichello are also expected to take part.

The action will get under way in Florianopolis on 28 November, and features drivers from many different categories of motorsport, including Formula 1, Indy racing and stock cars.

"It's an incredible party, they get the best drivers together from all categories in the world," added Massa, who helps organise the event.

Massa, who recently had plastic surgery on his injury, is not due to return to F1 until next year.

Ferrari hired Italian Giancarlo Fisichella to replace Massa for the final five races of this season after a neck problem prevented seven-time F1 champion Schumacher from driving in his place.

This will be Great News we should be able to see him next season!

Renault sponsors ING and Mutua Madrilena stopped their sponsorship deals. But ING will continue to sponsor Alonso. Lucky for Alonso there were no evidence to prove whether he knows about crashgate. ING is naive to think that Alonso is innocent.

Bad news as 2 big names didn't make it through to Q3.

    Button - P12
    Kimi - P13

Rubens managed to scrap through in P7 in Q2. He will only qualify highest in 5th due to a gearbox change.

Let's wait for Q3 to start.

PS will start from pole, no thanks to Ruben's crash at the end of Q3.

The kid will start alongside him, with Rosberg in 3rd position. Rubens qualified highest at 5th, so he'll start from 10th place.
