If I am not wrong, Ayrton Senna was once a driver for Lotus, right?

Ha, Huggable was part of the action too. But didn't get any "airtime"!

Was a volunteer at Turn 5 in the last SGP.

Are volunteer marshals allowed to bring point and shoot cameras? And secretly take video of some of the action? Or strictly not allowed as its an image thing?

Technically speaking, no. Especially during the "hot" periods, like qualifying etc. However, almost everyone brought one. There are some rules and conduct for marshals, like not harrasing drivers for autograph, no sleeping on the job, etc.

Btw F1 has this strange ruling, that all pictures taken during the F1 races are theirs.

Ya from 1985-1987, then in 1988 Senna moved to reigning world champions McLaren to partner Alain Prost.

Is this a replay of wad Ron Dennis did last yr when he left Mclaren so that the FIA won't punish the team so badly?

No la, not possible. Only Pat Symonds will not be punished. 1st Spygate, then Liegate and now Crashgate! F1 and FIA have to do something to protect the integerty of the sport.

With their departure, does that mean:
    1) Flavio Briatore and Pat Symonds will not be obligated to co-operate with FIA ?
    2) Renault will get away scot-free?

Whatever the outcome, this is going to hurt the sport more.

1)they won't be liable in this case,

but as for renault, they still have to go for the trial by the FIA.

i think symonds was given immunity but decline...

first mclaren spygate, mclaren (stewards incident) and now this...

thank god ferrari has not gotten into trouble yet...
